SELIT North America opened its second production site in the USA in Commerce in November 2019. Together with the production site in Plattsburgh, NY, the group of companies now comes to product premisies of 70,000 ft² and a production capacity of 800 million ft².
The move to establish a second production site is based on the company’s philosophy of offering its customers short lead times and fast support. The new plant in the state of Georgia is located close to its customers in the southern part of the USA and guarantees maximum flexibility and personal support.
The production facility has two state-of-the-art extrusion lines for polystyrene. Two additional extrusion lines, which can also produce XPO and PET, are planned for the end of 2021. In addition, an extensive and state-of-the-art recycling department has been built, which enables nearly 100% of production-related foam waste to be recycled and returned to the production process.
SELIT North America has also placed great emphasis on designing the building and production to be energy efficient in order to save emissions and protect the environment.
The two production sites in Plattsburgh and Commerce operate redundantly, ensuring the greatest possible flexibility and security of supply.
